Wrought Iron Art Deco Gates
Created for a private client, this body of work draws on David Wood’s long interest in Art Deco ironwork and its stylised botanical forms.
From original drawings by David through to hand making the earlier gates, door, mirror frame and balustrade, the work brings together fan motifs, scrolls, scalloped lines and elongated uprights in a distinctly hand-forged composition.
The recently installed front gates sit naturally with those earlier pieces (images below), extending a decorative language already established within the home.
An Art Deco vocabulary, reworked through the eye and hand of an artist blacksmith.
