Veg Out Community Garden 25th Anniversary Gate
Commissioned by the St Kilda Veg Out Community Garden Board
Location: St Kilda, Melbourne
Materials: steel, wrought iron, copper and coloured glass.
Created for the 25th anniversary of Veg Out Community Gardens, St Kilda.
Inspired by the Lady of St Kilda — the schooner that gave the suburb its name — the gate brings together ship forms, fairy figures, flowing lines and coloured glass.
Forged in wrought iron, stainless steel and copper, with repoussé detail, it balances maritime history with the imaginative life of the garden.
Practical in purpose yet sculptural in presence, it marks the entrance to a place shaped by cultivation, creativity and community.
